Hyperhidrosis
What It Is
Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a fairly common condition. The body produces sweat as a way to naturally regulate our body temperatures. But when the nerves that control the sweat glands become overly stimulated, excess sweat can be produced. Though this condition is not dangerous or life threatening, it can be embarrassing and impact your confidence levels and self-esteem. Though the use of antiperspirant and deodorant is common in attempts to control this, it simply does not work in the majority of Hyperhidrosis patients.
How It’s Treated
Botox Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis can be dealt with on a long-term basis with the help of medical hyperhidrosis injections. Botox will work by temporarily blocking the signals sent by the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When no chemical signals are being sent to the sweat glands, the excessive sweating will stop. Botox injections will stop the production of severe sweating only in the areas treated and will not harm the body in any way. The sweat does not get blocked or go anywhere else because sweat will simply not be produced in the treated areas.
